The Algarve is dotted with picturesque small villages and historic towns, a number of which are encountered along the way. Pure countryside, pure air and pure pleasure are the order of the day(s). You may find a local café along your route where you can enjoy some local Algarvean food and wine, presented simply, but simply divine. If coastal walks are your thing, the Eastern Algarve has hundreds of interesting trails and walks, all with views of Algarve’s magnificent coastline!
During March and April the countryside is a mass of spring flowers. The colorful orange and lemon groves add to the flavor and scents, while the clover abundantly covers the hillsides. A blaze of colour. Through the summer the young olives are abundant on native trees, whilst during the autumn hikers will come across local farmers and villagers using long sticks to whack the branches to harvest young olives for brining.
Stout trainers or boots are recommended, as is a walking pole as loose stones can make some paths slippery. Don’t forget the hat, water and sunscreen!
Colina Verde typical pricing is €50 per person, based on two sharing, which includes breakfast. The accommodation is fully equipped, spacious apartments, as opposed to tight hotel room accommodation. Full use of resort facilities are included, including tennis, gymnasium & leisure facilities.
